stringy algae

My small pond has green stringy algae this spring. What can I do to get rid of ot. I had it one other yeat, but don't remember what I did. Thanks for your help. Samantha

remove as much as possibe with a broom handle or by hand, then start treating with barley straw and a beneficial bacteria, allow 3 weeks for these natural products to work unless you want to resort to a chemical treatment.
