dividing daylilies

Postby Lifter » Wed Jul 28, 2010 10:32 pm

I have a daylily that I have had several years. I don't remember where I bought, either from Viette or possibly local here in Chesapeake Va..It was planted for 2or3 yrs where it wasn't getting enough sun. I dug it up 2years ago and put it in a large pot.Last year I had to divide it to 4 pots. I need to know the best time to divide them to larger pots.It has bloomed from The 1st week in June till last week. There is 3 to 4 plants in each pot. The bloom is a burgundy going to yellow in the throat, about30 inches tall. Very robust. Thank You for any help.

You can really divide them at any time of the year, but we usually dig and divide them right after they finish blooming or in the spring.
